The Challenge - Power the Future is a unique 24-hour challenge where college students from all disciplines put their talents to the test to bring ideas to life.
From Idea to Solution - Teams will be briefed on a Dominion Energy-related scenario and will brainstorm, prototype, and present their innovative solution to a panel of industry experts. Your solutions can have a positive impact on the future of Dominion Energy.
Prizes - Prizes will be awarded to winning teams. Those include $4,000 for the winning team ($1,000 per team member, up to 4 members per team) as well as technology focused prizes for the 2nd and 3rd place teams. Additionally, Dominion Energy paid internships may be offered to select participants that stand out to the judges regardless of how your team places overall. In short, there are many opportunities to win.
$7,000 in prizes
The first place team (of up to 4 people) will win $1,000 per person.
The second place team will each win a cool, current piece of technology. We are leaning towards new phones but will evaluate what is cool and fresh closer to the event date.
The third place team will win a cool, current piece of technology. We are leaning towards one of the retro consoles but will evaluate what is cool and fresh closer to the event.
Internships may be awarded to stand out participants. There is no set number on them and no limit to the know. We are looking for participants that catch the eye of the staff and judges. If that occurs, on site recruiters will talk with you more about paid internship opportunities at Dominion Energy.
